
The International 470
The 470 is a two person, high performance trapeze dinghy. Designed by Andre
Cornu, the 470 is popular around the world, with the classes stronghold being Europe and
especially France. Its a bit over 15 feet long (470 centimeters) and weighs a
little over 200 lbs. Teamwork is crucial to success in this class.
The 470 has been an Olympic Class since 1976 (Canada). Since the 1988 Games
(Korea), the class has been featured in two separate Olympic events, an all-women's
event and an "open" event (effectively all men). For more information on
